Beng enjoins elected SK, brgy officials to help ZC

Mayor Beng Climaco has enjoined the newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and barangay officials to help Zamboanga City in the discharge of their functions inherent of the positions to which they were elected during the May 14 elections.

“We thank all aspirants for the SK and Barangay Elections. Henceforth, to all who have received the mandate in their barangays, I enjoin you all to help Zamboanga City,” Climaco said in a statement shortly after the winners in Monday’s elections were proclaimed.

“By your collective efforts in responding to the individual needs of the barangay, may you include Security, Health and Education (SHE) as a priority,” she said. “May God guide the working of our hands in love and service of Zamboanga City.”

Likewise, the chief executive has expressed thanks and gratitude to the security forces, particularly the police and military, for the generally peaceful conduct of the electoral process.

She thanked the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the election inspectors and tellers, and all agencies concerned for the orderly conduct of the elections in the city.

“Let us remain vigilant and alert and help our authorities ensure peace and security as well as ensure the integrity of the ballots,” the mayor said at the height of the counting in the precinct level and canvassing Monday night.

The City Election Monitoring Action Center (CEMAC), a collaborative effort of related agencies and civil society organizations, remained activated at the Zmboanga City Police Office purposely to serve as the monitoring unit where information relative to the just concluded elections including security coverage are addressed.-(Vic Larato/PR)
