Colonel Andrelino Colina has praised and thanked the local media here for organizing the Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) Press Corpse, saying that no words of gratitude would be able to compensate for the invaluable support and belief which the mediamen exhibited towards the officers and soldiers of the TF Zamboangas in working towards their shared goal of bringing correct and timely information to their countrymen on what the Armed Forces is doing in its efforts for peace and development especially in this part of the country.
"You play a key role in our society by bridging the gap between the military and the Filipino as you endlessly relay news and information. Working towards bringing out the truth, I thank you for working hand in hand with TF Zamboanga in our information and dissemination campaign," Colina said in his prepared speech during the fellowship with the local media last Friday night at Marcian Garden Hotel.
Colina inducted the officers of the newly formed Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) Press Corpse, namely: Albert Luna of GBPI TV 11, president; Lizel Lacastesantos of ABS-CBN Zamboanga, vice president; Jungjung Cabato of DXVP, secretary; Marilyn delos Santos of Bombo Radyo Philippines, treasurer; Dan Toribio of The Daily Zamboanga Times, auditor; and Jerry Felix of Wild FM, Public Information Officer (PIO).
By including them in the news and reports, Colina said "You help us enforce in the minds of the Zamboangueños the role of the Armed Forces as a 'Bayanihan' partner in progress and nation-building."
"We have surpassed another news-filled 1st Semester of 2013 with a renewed commitment of serving the country with all honesty and sincerity."
Colina assured that the Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) will continue to pursue its mandate and repay by always being ready to protect, having sworn to sacrifice "our lives and efforts for the benefit of the Zamboangueno and the Filipino people. May TF Zamboanga know more glorious days with our media friends as one of its strongest supporter and partner in progress and development."
Friday night's fellowship with local media and TF Zamboanga has also the presence of Armed Forces Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) spokesman, Col. Rodrigo Gregorio, TFZ deputy commander Albert Valencia and other local military officers based in Zamboanga City as well as some local businessmen.
