An official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has assured the public it is 99% ready for the May 13, 2013 midterm elections.

Comelec Regional Election Director Francisco Pobe said the commission is more than ready for the conduct of the May 2013 polls.

“Sobra pa sa ready. We are 99% ready within the Zamboanga Peninsula,” Pobe told local reporters in an interview at the local Comelec office.

The Comelec has delivered 100% of PCOS machines to Zamboanga del Norte, 954; Zamboanga del Sur, 951; Zamboanga Sibugay, 575 and Zamboanga City, 488; for a total of 2,968 PCOS machines for Region IX’s total number of registered voters 1,981,427.

Pobe assured the public of fair and honest elections as there are no areas of concern or locally called election “hotspot” within his areas of responsibility.

“Lahat ay concern namin para bigyan ng importansiya ang bawat lugar,” Pobe said.

Meanwhile, Pobe assured to provide accreditation cards to all local tri-media who until now has not availed of the Comelec Accreditation Cards for election coverage in the May 13, 2013 elections.

“I understand the plight of the media, bibigyan natin lahat,” Pobe said.

The requirement to avail Comelec’s Accreditation Card is endorsement letter coming from their respective outfit or organization and two pieces 2x2 pictures.
