Albayalde is correct, but he is still in error

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…Woe to those who draw sin along with cords of deceit, and wickedness as with cart ropes… Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter…” (Isaiah 5:18, 20, the Holy Bible)

ALBAYALDE IS CORRECT, BUT HE IS STILL IN ERROR: Director General Oscar Albayalde of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is absolutely right: it is certainly not accurate to say, as the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women---Asia-Pacific did say the

other day, that 'palit-puri' (or sex with policemen in exchange for freedom of arrested crime suspects) is a rampant anomaly at the PNP. I can agree that, yes, perhaps not all policemen are of the same sex drive.

But, please pardon me for saying that he is nevertheless still mistaken. The fact is that, Albayalde cannot deny that while not all members of the PNP seek sexual favors from those that they arrest or from their hapless relatives, there is certainly a big and worrisome number of cops hereabouts who regularly indulge in this kind of a sexual aberration, or, in many other instances, in mulcting and extortion activities against persons arrested by them.

WHAT SHOULD ALBAYALDE BE CONCERNING HIMSELF WITH NOW? All that General Oscar Albayalde has to do is to pay attention to the lifestyle being sported by a lot of policemen, and he will surely not fail to notice the “good life” many of them enjoy. This is the reason why I propose that what Albayalde should be concerning himself with, at this point that only a few months in his term are remaining, should be the introduction of fear and love of God among his subordinates, whether officers or mere rank and file.

I know this is some kind of a “mission impossible”, if we will only look at the capabilities of a human being. But it is an absolutely “accomplishable” work, if only Albayalde will look to God on the issue. I am sure that if he will only ask God in all humility and sincerity to help him teach his policemen, his wish will unquestionably be granted. If that happens, it would his biggest legacy to the police force and the country as a whole.

As of now, all the former chiefs who served at the PNP from 1991 have been forgotten, principally because they failed to introduce truly relevant changes in the police force while they were leading the organization. The same sorry fate or future awaits Albayalde if he can’t bring the police to a true fear and love of God.

IF WE REALLY HAVE FAITH, WHY DO WE STILL HAVE GRAVE PROBLEMS? Two women talked to me on Monday, November 5, 2018 seeking help in their respective legal problems through BATAS, or Batas ng mga Abogadong Tagapagtaguyod ng Adhikaing Sambayanan (a group of lawyers giving free legal counseling), and LIGHT, or Lawyers Instructed on Godliness, Humility, and Truth. One was from the US, while the other was from Sorsogon.

I told them that help would not truly come from me, but from God. Because of that, I also told them that they should endeavor to account themselves before God, whether He will agree to help them or not. Both of them said God will help them, allegedly because they do pray everyday, they have faith, and they are helping others as much as they can.

I threw them a question which obviously caught them off-guard: if God is helping them, why were they still having problems, especially those that they are referring to me? The promise of God is simple: If one listens to, and obeys His commands, He will give him victory over his enemies. I then asked the two: why then is God not helping you with your problems at this point? Why was He not fulfilling His promise of victory over one’s enemies to them?

WEIGHED BUT FOUND STILL WANTING: And this is the problem confronting almost all people today. Indeed, they are convinced they are in the right faith, obeying God in their lives. But if these people are okay with God, having faith in Him, and obeying His

commands, how come God has still grave problems to come to them? Why are they still unable to defeat their enemies, as what He promised to those who would follow Him?

The answer is similarly simple, and it is one that the two women who came to me appeared to have failed to grasp: in God’s weighing scale, there must still be something missing, or inappropriate and is not pleasing to God, in the things they are doing for Him. Otherwise, God will make good His promises of victory and success. The reason why failures still hound many of us who believe is that, there is still something we are not doing. Would that not be true, friends in the law?
