(Enlightenment—Passage of the Day)

Q.) WHY CAN’T WE SERVE TWO MASTERS AT THE SAME TIME?

A.) “NO SERVANT CAN SERVE TWO MASTERS: FOR EITHER HE WILL HATE THE ONE, AND LOVE THE OTHER, OR ELSE HE WILL HOLD TO THE ONE, AND DESPISE THE OTHER. YE CANNOT SERVE GOD AND MAMMON.” (LUKE 16: 13). Email: jayfeliciano2@yahoo.com

BENG TO MNLF: “LEAVE US ALONE!”

OUR lady Mayor Beng Climaco-Salazar is vehemently against any gathering/meetingor even convention that the MNLF intends to hold in ZC. In her latest message sent across on Thursday, the brave mayor(at-last!) spoke to the press of her utmost concern, stressing what the MNLF-Misuari faction did to the city in Sept. of 2013 is still fresh in the minds of the Zamboangueños. THE mayor is just pouring out her sentiments for and in behalf of the local folks here who were all traumatized even up to now by its whole madness when its heavily-armed group numbering to some 400 to 500 brigands attacked this peace-loving ZC populace.

MOST likely, she remains more combative in her words for she feels this is adding insult to injury when Misuari is right now even given the so-called VIP treatment by our very own Pres. DU30 — despite facing rebellion charges in court for the bloody “Zamboanga Siege” that triggered in Sept. of 2013 as a result of their treacherous assault of our city.

DUTERTE, from the very start, has expressed willingness to negotiate for peace in Mindanao with all the major armed groups in Mindanao, to include the disgruntled MNLF-Misuari wing. The MNLF appears having its own internal power struggle that supposedly split from Misuari following the latter’s downfall when ousted as the ARMM governor for alleged irregularities while in office back in the late 1990s and early 2000.

AS the local chief executive, our lady mayor has all the power to exercise within its sphere, to issue such a clarion call—like, urging, “Leave us alone!”

This is just understandable, and we do hope the MNLF and its whole sympathizers/ supporters will take cognizance of this—not negatively but, positively and constructively for the sake of peace here in our region and the entire Mindanao for that matter.

TO our lady mayor, keep up the good workfor and in behalf of your whole constituents who voted for you in two past local elections, resoundingly. And, if you keep on such a belligerent posture for the sake of peace and security of our city, for sure, you’ll get their nod just the same, and even more. Who’ll dispute that, huh?

LIKE what your allies are confidently saying, you have your own peculiar courage and bravery when dealing with armed threats in our “Asia’s Latin City,”the city’s famed branding, that your own former mentor Dist. 1 Cong. Celso Lobregat officially adopted when the city mayor then, and remains unchanged to this day.

SO, there you are, the two of them might even reunite for the sake of our whole Zamboanga folks who’ve been clamoring that they’ll finally mend their broken hearts and go back to what their own late Ma’am Caling kept on stressing, “Man huntu, huntu kita hasta para cuando, para bien del di-aton ciudad.”As if to inculcate in all their minds, the late Mayor Caling Lobregat even sang herself the now famous chavacano hymn: “Mi Ciudad de Zamboanga..”

DO I need to download its whole lyrics for us to have its ardent and zealous feel?
