THE UNSEEN LAST FOREVER, BUT THE THOSE SEEN DON’T

“So we no longer pay attention to the things that are seen, but to those that are unseen, for the things that we see last for a moment, but that which cannot be seen is eternal.” (2nd Corinthians 4:18). Email: jayfeliciano2@yahoo.com

BENG NOT BOTHERED BY BRGY OFFICIALS JOINING CELSO’S PDP/LABAN

MAYOR Beng Climaco-Salazar showed no signs that she sulked upon hearing that  Dist. 1 Cong. Celso Lobregat is supposedly behind the mass oath-taking of the city’s new members for the PDP/Laban, the country’s predominant political party now led by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.

“For as long as they’re not violating any law, they’re free to do what they want,” the lady mayor made her stand during last Monday’s CH press-con.

According to our election laws, barangay officials should stay neutral and therefore, should be non-partisan in any political exercises or undertakings.

“Entonses bad influence ese di-ila mass oath-taking para cunel mga barangay officials aki canaton, “ c Bogs ya ladra ya tamen.

“Deberas sila ta viola cunel ley. Pero’ tan lusutl ang cay na poder sila,” c Ador de wisyo gayot c ta combersa.

NO less House Speaker was reportedly here yesterday to officiate the said mass oath-taking, a Lobregat source disclosed, as published.

SUSPECT IN DR. ITURRALDE’S ABDUCTION TRY NABBED

THE alleged main suspect in the aborted kidnap incident of Dr. Iturralde in Talon-Talon sometime a year ago fell into the police dragnet last week and is now under police custody.

“We will not release him even if the Iturraldes won’t file any complaint or case against him. We expect other witnesses to come out and testify against him to help us pursue the case,” ZCPO Dir. S/Supt. Luisito Magnaye sternly pointed out, adding that the arrested suspect identified as Jim Abdul Sahibul could be placed under continuous interrogation based on certain reports that he could be involved in the ASG’s past atrocities in the region.

“We’ll see to it the suspect will be placed under a thorough investigation as there are reports he was also involved in other nefarious activities of the Abu Sayyafs in the region,” Col. Magnaye assured.

That can’t be discounted at all, so well done Colonel!

IS THERE A SERIAL KILLER AROUND HERE?

DURING last Monday’s CH news briefing, the press asked Col. Magnaye, our city police director, if there’s a serial killer roaming the city to prey on young ladies, his straight response was none at all.

HE substantiated his curt reply, stressing they were separate and distinct from each other.

But what’s bizarre to note is that the two most recent gory cases that happened in the Lunzuran bypass road and later in Lantawan in Brgy. Pasonanca involved two young coeds of same state-own school  which is the Zamboanga State College of Marine Science & Technology(ZSCMST).

Notice the supposed jinx apparently shown in here? That’s according to some of our fatalists.

SECURITY IN COASTAL AREAS TIGHTENED

ACCORDING to our police authorities here the city’s coastal sections are being closely monitored for security purposes following reports of supposed sightings of lawless elements like the dreaded Abu Sayyafs whose strongholds in Sulu and Basilan are now under heavy bombardments by the ongoing intensive military operations.

ZCPO Dir. Col. Luisito Magnaye confirmed such reports from the AFP and attested that there’s a current joint and composite law enforcement group of the PNP/AFP/ MARITIME forces to secure the city’s coastal lines described as porous and gravely vulnerable to our highly urbanized community here.

C’MON, guys, just let your talk walk, period. And, don’t forget, we’re fed up knowing later on nagging ningas cogon lang ang ating mga campaña. No more of those, please. (By Jun Feliciano)  (30)
