JAPAN EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI: SIGNS OF THE END: Saturday, March 11, 2012, marked the first anniversary of the Japan earthquake that triggered a massive tsunami which ultimately erased many of the cities located in its path. I prayed not only for the victims, but for the whole world as well, because that earthquake and that tsunami that were signs that the world is coming to its end, according to the Bible.

CATHOLICS GROOMING PACQUIAO FOR PRESIDENT? This early, some people are already working to prevent Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, the world’s best pound for pound boxer, to aspire for the presidency of this country. Members of some Internet groups are now saying Pacquiao should not become president because he will just be a puppet of the Roman Catholic Church.
These people are saying that Pacquiao’s conversion as a Bible-reading person is a maneuver of Catholic leaders to ultimately prop him up for the presidency so they can control him and later establish a “theocracy”---or a government of churchmen. For whatever it is worth, here is a sample of an Internet posting about this issue:

“The Roman Catholic Church, through its political arm the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, is obviously grooming and preparing Manny Pacquiao, now a Congressman, for the highest position in the Philippines, meaning the Presidency itself. They finally see in Pacquiao the best possible puppy or lackey who is even as early as now already almost completely in their clerical pockets!”

CIVIL WAR FROM CORONA ACQUITTAL: By now, it is almost certain that Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago is going to vote in favor of Chief Justice Renato Corona, what with her publicized statements saying the congressmen-prosecutors bungled their presentation of evidence in support of the articles of impeachment against the magistrate
Except for senators who will vote according to the dictates of their party leaders, it is fair to predict that many other senator-judges share the view of Santiago and would therefore vote for the dismissal of the charges against Corona likewise. When that time comes, the real problem begins for the Filipino people.

The truth is that those seeking Corona’s ouster have already prepared, even now, a “Plan B”, which will be implemented to compel him to vacate his post even if he is finally cleared, a plan which will involve massive mass actions reminiscent of the EDSA 1 and 2 scenarios.
The only problem here is that other groups interested to oust President Aquino from the presidency---those fingered by him and by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV---will ride on this “Plan B” to destabilize the government and compel Aquino to resign or be removed against his will. This should easily give rise to a civil war, if you ask me.

NO FIXED DATE, BUT END IS COMING: US preacher Harold Camping, 90, has made a turn-around: he is now saying he has no evidence the world will end anytime soon. And this is correct, because even the Bible says no one knows for sure when the end will come. But something cannot be denied: the signs given by Jesus, our God and Savior, about the end of the world are now happening. We may not know the date, but it is coming!
