The heavens cried?

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal…” (Psalm 119:160, the Holy Bible).
THE HEAVENS CRIED? Was it a coincidence that, right after the House of Representatives decided to end debates on the Reproductive Health Bill last Monday, August 6, 2012, one day ahead of the original schedule of voting to end those debates scheduled on August 7, 2012, heavy rains pounded Metro Manila almost without let-up until Tuesday?
Can we say, the heavens cried profusely for that decision of our lawmakers, which, in a way, moved the controversial bill closer to becoming a law? As I was writing this column, heavy rains continued pouring, and appeared as if they will last longer, considering that the skies remained heavily dark and foreboding.
In fact, this has been the condition of most of the country these past few days, even if there was no low pressure area, no typhoon signal, no weather disturbance, anywhere in the country, except monsoon rains.
Whatever it is, I enjoin all Filipinos who believe in God to open their Bible, listen to the Word of God once more, and pray without ceasing, first, to show to our top political leaders His will, and second, to spare us from any tragedy arising from their actions.
PERSPECTIVE ON RAINS, FLOODS AND STRONG WINDS: Once more, here is a perspective on rains, floods and rains: they maybe natural phenomenon expected to occur every rainy season, but the more important thing to remember in all these is that all of these natural calamities have already been predicted to happen by Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.
In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus said the rains, floods and strong winds will come. Those who have been listening to His Word (meaning, those who have been reading the Bible), and who have been obeying His commands, will be spared and will not suffer. But those who have been listening to Him, but are not obeying His commands, will surely perish and die.
Consequently, if we want to overcome or at least survive the coming rains, floods and strong winds, we must obey what Jesus is saying: we must listen to Him and read His Bible, and then follow His commands.
JESUS WARNS OF RAINS, FLOODS AND WINDS: Here is what Matthew 7:24-27, quoting Jesus, said: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash…”
