The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) celebrated its 108th Founding Anniversary last August 8, 2012.

In Zamboanga City, BIR Revenue Region 15 led by Regional Director Alert Alocilja, a lawyer and a Certified Public Accountant  prepared various activities for a week long celebration that started August 1 and ended August 8, 2012.

The anniversary activities kicked-off with a Holy Mass officiated by Rt. Rev. Monsignor Peter Garces at the BIR 2nd Floor Lobby last August 1, 2012. The other activities included a Tax Assistance Center where taxpayers were ably assisted in their transactions with the office, a wellness activity where a Lecture on  Renal Care and Stress Management was conducted by Dr. Michael Abutazil and  Dr. Nahda Abutazil last August 6 & 7, 2012; a mixed Volleyball games was held in the afternoon of August 7 between players from the Regional office and District office, blessing of the BIR RR15 Records and Multi Purpose Building, PLDT dry run on the Queueing Machine and CCTV Camera on August 8m 2012, Bingo socials and fun game dubbed BIR Henyo in the afternoon of the same day.

Highlights of the weeklong celebration was the Awarding Ceremony for the BIR Partners. The awardees were businessman and former Presidential Consultant on Mindanao Economic Affairs  Wee Dee Ping, Edwin Capili, CPA and Businessman Robert Lim and the twenty four (24) Allegiance Awardees (Loyalty Award) like RD Alert Alocilja, Munib Basa, Joventino Bernardo, Teresita Chiong, Leopoldo Denoy, Elsa Enriquez, Monica Garganera, Salip Sarijan, Anang Indanan, Chito Jumawan, Estrella Lanuza, Fanny Lim, Marilyn Madrista, Lydia Matalenes, Jose Ojiana, Evelyn Punzalan, Necita Ricafort, Fatima Sahad, Rodolfo Suello, Edelyn Tagayuna, Madison Tamsi, Rosalinda Turaya, Mela Tangcajan and Concessa Valencia.

The affair was spiced up with beautiful dance presentations from the Assessment Division and the BIR Zambo District 93 and the BIR ZAMMCO Raffle Draw and employees raffle with prizes like motorcycle, kitchen and living room showcase, I-pads, tablets, cell phones, canned goods and grocery items.

The affair started with RD Alert Alocilja delivering the Anniversary Message and ended with ARD Wilma T. Elivera delivering the Closing Remarks.
