Birthday visitor hacked by wife of celebrant

A birthday visitor was hacked to death by the celebrant’s husband at Habibub Drive, Purok 4, Barangay Mampang, this city, Monday night.

Tetuan Police Station commander Chief Inspector Felix Martinez Jr. identified the victim as Agnio Abduhasad y Jalani, 40, also of the said barangay. He sustained multiple hack wounds on the different parts of his body resulting to his instantaneous death.

Martinez identified the suspect as Rowel Mendoza, of legal age, who was helped by his drinking pal, Elpidio Faustino and son, Raymart.

The suspects and their family hurriedly left their houses and cannot be located as of press time.

Initial investigation conducted by Tetuan Police disclosed that the victim, Mendoza and Faustino, were having a drinking spree as it was the birthday of Mendoza’s wife.

Probers said a heated altercation ensued between Mendoza and Abduhasad. Mendoza, with the help of Faustino, hacked the victim repeatedly.

Mendoza and his son, Raymart, took the victim and dumped him in the swampy area near their residence.

The body of the victim was brought to Villa Funeral Homes.          

Meanwhile, James Tan y Yap was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center last Sunday after being hacked by Joseph Duran y Lauriano.

Police report revealed that the suspect and the victim were having a heated conversation at the vicinity of gate 1, Barangay Upper Calarian, this city, when Duran pulled out a scythe and hacked Tan on the elbow.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police after the incident and is now detained at Sinunuc Police Station pending the filing of appropriate charges in court.
