Man snatches cellphone from high school student

A high school student of Zamboanga State Polytechnic College became a victim of snatching along P. Brilliantes Street, this city yesterday afternoon.
Police identified the victim as Cheska, 15 year old, high school student, and a resident of Barangay Upper Calarian.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was in downtown to buy materials for her school project when the suspect, Elmer Lano, 35 years old and a resident of Tulungatung snatched her Cherry Mobile S11 cellphone.
The victim asked the help of PO1 Khomerie Alam who was able to arrest the suspect.
Confiscated from the possession of the suspect were several items like two cellphones Sony Ericson 2630I and Nokia 6300, a silver ring, two pairs of earrings, necklace and P1,920.00 cash.
The suspect is now detained at the Zamboanga City Police Office pending the proper filing of charges against him in court.
