13 Zamboangueñas pass ‘Mutya ng Pilipinas’ initial screening

At least thirteen Zamboangueñas passed the initial screening of "Mutya ng Pilipinas" conducted on Wednesday at Grand Astoria Hotel.

Manila’s top fashion designers Dave Ocampo, Edwin Uy, Chery Veric, and Renee Salud who is the Chairman of the Screening Committee of the Mutya ng Pilipinas conducted the initial screening.

The group is selecting who would represent the City of Zamboanga in the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2013 pageant.

There were there were 28 ladies who were screened and out of the 28 only 13 passed the initial screening. The final candidate screening for the pageant is schedule in Zamboanga on November.

During the final screening, Salud will come back together with the official photographer of the Mutya ng Pilipinas.

“Zamboangueñas are noted for beautiful women I can assure you of that. Too bad lang because I noticed recently medyo hindi masyado ganon ka aggressive na magsali sa beauty contest that’s why being the chairman of the screening committee of Mutya ng Pilipinas I’m taking this opportunity meeting with other beautiful girls,” said Salud.

According to Salud, they might choose five candidates from Zamboanga. “We are not only limiting to one. We might be having about four or five because they will be scored in the screening and they will be compared with the other girls from the different provinces.”

The Mutya ng Pilipinas which is one of the prestigious pageant is scheduled by July next year.
