Agan backs UZ tarpaulin showing count down of gunshot victims

PDFPrintE-mail

Councilor Rommel Agan yesterday said he fully supports the move of Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ) in hanging the huge tarpaulin at the university’s building in downtown showing to all and sundry the number of gunshot victims in the city from the month of January to the present.

Agan said the number of deaths printed in the tarpaulin will always serve as a reminder to the concerned official at City Hall in relation to the proper disbursement of the intelligence funds to the intelligence community.

“Everytime he goes out at the veranda of City Hall, he will be reminded that there are so many Zamboangueños already killed by gunshot. O hala que aquel ta man disburse el intelligence fund ay man conciensia ele,” Agan said.

The councilor also hoped the other officials who are allegedly benefiting from the intelligence funds being given to them as dole outs to maintain their allegiance to the giver, will also have conscience on their part.

He was referring to members of the LDP in the august body.

Agan said people joining the social network such as Facebook and Twitter are flaring up with so many messages inquiring how much these aldermen are allegedly receiving and dividing from the intel funds to keep them from going against the benefactor.

“Ojala que este maga hente ay man huya tamen era cay el sangre del maga quien ya muri, na mano tamen di-ila,” Agan said.

He said the numbers of deaths as reported in the UZ tarpaulin is a daily reminders to the leaders who are not looking for an alternative solution to put a stop to the unabated killings.

A good politicians does not dwell constantly in scoring political points at the expense of the negative occurrences. What mr. Agan, should do is to sponsor a resolution in how to mitigate or solved the peace order crises. It seems his political ambition overpower his desire to served his constituent. Case in point. At one point he express his intention to run for senator in the future? Delusion of grandeuor. Mr. Agan why don't you just do your job in the city council.

Mr. Mario, although your idea seem to be legitimate, the point of the matter is that no one is concerned about doing anything in our beloved city. Take for example your idea of putting the tarp down. If the people from city hall wanted to do so, then they had more than 4 months from Mr. Eustaquio's death to do so. This is not a publicity stunt as you might find it. It reflects the feeling of each and every disheartened Zamboangueno on how slow the justice system is in our city. I for one do not agree on guerilla tactics, but for this matter, the decision to put up the tarp is not a decision made by one person, but is a collective sentiment of all really concerned citizen. The problem with the people in authority is that they wish to turn the other cheek every time they see this sign. I hope more businesses and buildings will follow suit as they cannot blame people from being apathetic if they (City Hall) themselves dwell in apathy up to this very day.

The Tarpaulin posted by UZ absolutely served no noble purpose at all. It only stimulate and encouraged more violence and panic mood among the masses aside from damaging the image of the city. The UZ management used the late mr. Argie demised in a wrong way. As an educational institution, they should be more positive by helping find solution in the resolution of the peace and order crises besetting the city. The late mr. Argie, definitely would not agree of the posting of the Tarpaulin. The city governemnt, considering the fact, that the placement of the Tarpualine to a certain degree create panic mood among the masses should pass a resolution ordering UZ to put the Tarpaulin down. Politicians are using the Tarpaulin to advance their political agenda. A smart and wise man dwells in finding solution to a problem not consumed by negativity. To the UZ management please done use the demised of the demised of the beloved Argie in vain. Put the Tarpaulin down. Thanks.
