Another shooting: 1 killed in Muti

Another shooting incident also happened at Sitio Tuwalang in Barangay Muti yesterday morning, where a 19-year-old young man was shot to death by a group of armed men.
The victim was identified as Abdua Hasim y Ukong, married, cousin of the late Muti barangay kagawad Edgar Mali, and a resident of the same barangay.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body which resulted to his instantaneous death.
Chief Inspector Ricardo Garcia, commander of Curuan Police Station, said that the victim was walking along the road when the gunmen opened fire at him.
Witnesses alleged that the group of armed men was composed of Edil Amajad, a certain Sajid alias Tadi, Hussin Ahaddin, a certain Termiji and a certain Jamil.
Responding team led by Garcia rushed to the crime scene but failed to catch the mentioned gunmen as they already fled the area.
According to Garcia, police team conducted search operation in the scene but did not recover any empty shells or traces of evidence.
The police have already coordinated with the local barangay officials of Muti for the possible voluntarily arrest of the assailants.
The victim’s body was brought by his relative to their residence for proper burial in accordance to Islamic tradition.
Authorities continue to hunt down the gunmen and are looking into the motive of the incident.
