Seemingly disgusted by the big tarpaulin being displayed at the Universidad de Zamboanga building showing the number of gunshot victims since January this year, Mayor Celso Lobregat the other day called on the people to support the police and the local government in the fight against criminals in the city.

“Ayuda sila nomas pone caratula. PNP tormenta nuay testigo. Hope they will realize,” Lobregat said in an interview over RMN last week. “Debe era ayuda sila y nomas pone pa ese tarpaulin alyi bitay kay makahuya na maga visita.”

Lobregat said some of the crimes perpetrated have no witness or witnesses and  back-tracked their testimonies for fear of their lives which is one of the reason why the suspects are still roaming the city scot free.

It can be recalled that after the death of UZ president Archie Eustaquio III, the new management of UZ displayed a huge tarpaulin at the university’s building in downtown just facing City Hall showing the countdown of gunshot victims by in the city since January 1, 2012.

At present, in the UZ taurpulin, the number of gunshot victims reaches now to 110 and still counting.

The mayor said he hopes the UZ management will realize what they are doing is not right.

“Kuando ya muri si Archie alya pa sila ya abla kay tiene daw threat na suyu vida. Era ya abla temprano para puede toma precaucion,” Lobregat said.

It only shows that zamboanga now leading as the center killing fields in the philippines... what the hell is he doing? sleeping in the bushes? then its time zamboangenos to replace the sleeping beauty.

naiisip mo ba mayor kung ano nararamdaman ng mga biktima...? kung gusto mo itagao yang horror data, only proves that you have no plans to put effort to solve your horror... PALITAN kana talaga... Gago pala yang palakad mo e... alangan namang lalabas mga witnesses e wala nga kayo protection program... Puro kalang palabra walang bayag...

Yan pikon el useless mayor Lobregat,bien bueno bos na publicity y grandstanding then its the public truth that our killing fields city crime had rose up. Mayor looks you're giving up with this problem and dont have the balls to face this problem. Witness will come up if witness will be compensated and offer effective/safe protection plan. Use your sleeping funds.

mga nuay silbi el diatun mga oficiales na zamboanga...ese si lobregat vien ladron se..el jac pick-up 700T el presyo ya ase 900T, bien grande el rubada. ese si beng, otro tamen se, antes na ateneo bien grande gayot el inri bitay na kuerpo ara nuhay mas ya el cross..puru perlas ya lang..hahahaha..onde man se saka sen para kompra perlas...puru rubada lng sabe...go go go dapitan...

If the city administration is doing something to improve the peace and order situation the government should put out a "counter" tarpulin to show the results of it's effort. To hide behind the excuse that witnesses are not willing to come out to testify is a lame one.
