In its regular session last Wednesday, the City Council commended the organizers of the first "Vida na Mangle Festival" that was held recently in Rio Grande De Log pond in Barangay Tictapul.

In a resolution passed by District 2 Miguel "Mike" Alavar III, the members of the August Body unanimously approved the edict.

"This aims to promote economic upliftment of Vitali community, as producer of quality marine products in Zamboanga and Mindanao," Alavar said.

The festival highlighted different marine products from Barangays of Licomo, Tictapul, Vitali, Limaong and Mangusu that showcased bangus, crabs and other seafoods. It was participated by severa people from nearby barangays.

As a proponent of the resolution, Alavar said the next activity or festival will be a grandest occasion for the entire ten barangays of Vitali District.

"Definitely, it will be a big crowd by next year as ten barangays will participate the festival," Alavar said.

Meanwhile, Alavar also sponsored a resolution enjoining the Commission on Elections (Comelec-Zamboanga), to fully implement Section 10 of resolution No. 9149, providing for "An express lane for the elderly, disabled, detainees and pregnant applicants, for the rules and regulations for the resumption of the system of continuing registration of voters and validation of registration record in the non ARMM areas.
