AdZU launches Centennial Jubilee

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s (AdZU) has formally launched its Centennial Jubilee Celebration yesterday morning.
The Centennial Jubilee Celebration of the University is anchored on the theme of “Living 100 years of Excellence, Spirituality, and Citizenship”.
The Ateneo de Zamboanga University was founded in 1912 and it will celebrate its 100 years on July 30, 2012.
The celebration is done to express our gratitude to God for the 100 years and to the people, renew ourselves see how we can better ourselves, and to responds to the challenges of the future,” said ADZU President Fr. Antonio Moreno S.J.
Several activities are lined up for the celebration such as bloodletting on July 28, movie marathon and disco party on July 29, dance contest, boodle fight, laro ng lahi, festival dance contest.
On July 30, a marker will be unveiled near Plaza Pershing which is the original site of ADZU, centennial jubilee mass, formation of human seal, college variety show, and centennial dinner.
Meanwhile, Mayor Celso Lobregat expressed gratitude to the university for its support to the City Government of Zamboanga.
