One of the gunmen behind the death of a Chinese businesswoman last Monday night along Tomas Claudio St. in Barangay Zone III has been identified by the police.

Sr. Inspector Arlan Delumpines Criminal Investigation and Detective Management Unit (CIDMU) chief, said the suspect was Omar Sahiron y Cuesito alias Omar Abtajer Sahiron and Bryan Lim, of legal age, single, and formerly residing at Barangays San Roque and Baliwasan, both of this city.

Delumpines said Sahiron has a standing warrant of arrest for carnapping under criminal case number 26282 Honorable Judge Reynerio G. Estacio of RTC, 9th judicial region, Branch 14.

Sahiron was positively identified by witnesses as one of the riding-in-tandem suspects who robbed and shot to death Mei Shi y Rong, 50, married, a Chinese National, and temporarily residing at GHL Jose Go Huilo Building along Tomas Claudio Street.

The victim was walking home from her cellular phone store and upon reaching infront of Zone III barangay hall, the suspects appeared and shot her before forcibly taking her bag.

Reports disclosed that the Chinese woman died at the emergency room of Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) because of the fatal gunshot wound in the shoulder from a Caliber .45 Pistol.

A manhunt operation was conducted for the possible arrest of the wanted suspect for his possible arrest and his cohorts.

Police investigators have established the angle of robbery as the possible motive of the incident because the victim’s bag containing cash and valuable items were missing at the crime scene.
