The Bureau of Fire Protection-9 (BFP-9) and the Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD) and the Emergency Medical and Rescue Service/Special Rescue Unit (EMRS/SRU) have won the "Best Emergency Response Uniform" during the kick-off program of the National Disaster Consciousness Month last July 2, 2012 at Zamcelco compound.

Zamboanga City Fire District, District Fire Marshall F/ Supt. Dominador Zabala Jr. disclosed this, saying that the mentioned team bested other national and local response team in this city.

Zabala said the winning team is under his office and BFP IX Regional Director, F/Sr. Supt. Carlito B. Ocena.

The Office of Civil Defense IX, Regional Director, Adriano Fuego presented the award to the team.

The activity was in line with the government’s program and effort aimed at promoting awareness and instill consciousness to the people especially in times of natural or man-made disasters.

At present, the ZCFD has 7 fire stations located in Barangays Sta. Maria, Tetuan, Ayala, Manicahan, Quiniput, Vitali, and the City Fire Station.

Aside from these, they also have 7 fire sub-stations in Barangays Guiwan, Boalan, Sta. Catalina, Upper Calarian, Recodo, Talisayan, Mercedes.
