Police file murder cases vs fish vendor's killers

The local police office has filed a murder and attempted murder cases against the two suspects for killing a fish vendor along Row D of the Old Public Market, Magay Street, this city, last week.

The police identified the suspects as Telman Kadri y Tani, 30, married, of Bajada Drive, Barangay Sinunuc; and his uncle Hassan Isiri y Abtu, 38, married, of Arquiza Drive, Barangay Mampang, this city.

Isiri was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detective Management Unit (CIDMU) personnel during the follow-up operation at Mampang last Thursday however, Kadri remains at large.

CIDMU chief Sr. Inspector Arlan Delumpines told Zamboanga Today that an inquest case for murder and attempted murder were filed against the suspects in the city prosecutor’s office docketed under I.S. number IX-06-INQ-12G-00287.

Delimpunes said that Isiri availed of the 15 days preliminary investigation of his case and signed a waiver pursuant to article 125 of the RPC of the Philippines and presently is under the custody of the police office.

Meanwhile, a manhunt operation was launched against Kadri, who was the gunman of the incident.

Kidri and Asiri were identified as the assailants on the shooting incident last July 5, 2012 at the Old Public Market, downtown area wherein, Abdulgafar Hamsiraji y Elema, 27, married, a fish vendor and a resident of Layag-Layag, Barangay Talon-Talon, this city, was shot to death.

The victim sustained gunshot wound on his neck and at the back portion of his body was rushed to the hospital but later died while undergoing medical attention.
