The District Engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH),said the Zamboanga City District Office is celebrating the 114th Anniversary of the DPWH from June 18 to 23.

The theme for this year’s DPWH anniversary is “DPWH: Katiwalian Labanan, Para sa Bayan.” DPWH District Engr. Merham Acas said the activities for the anniversary celebration include cleanup drive, removal of obstruction from road right of ways, tree planting along the roadside of Putik and Divisoria, cleaning of signage and painting of pedestrian lanes.

The activities were participated by all the employees of the DPWH Region IX and the DPWH, Zamboanga City District Office.     
On the 114th anniversary, Acas said for the past years, the public saw the work of the DPWH building national roads, bridges, and maintaining them. They also help in the projects of the local government. “We are doing these to better serve the public.”

The DPWH Zamboanga City District Office is in charge of maintaining National Roadsw hich includes San Jose Gusu, Governor Lim Avenue, Veterans Avenue , Licomo StaCruz road, San Jose Cawa Cawa and the Zamboanga City Labuan to Limpapa Road. They also construct and maintain the bridges in this city.
