Man shot dead in Guiwan

A man was shot to death along Aquarius Drive, Daisy Road, Barangay Guiwan, this city, yesterday dawn.
Tetuan Police Station commander Chief Inspector Elmer Acuna identified the victim as Rhany Balagot y Ranin, 33, single, a native of Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay Province, presently residing at the said place.
Acuna said the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds on his head and different parts of the body causing his instantaneous death.
Acuna told Zamboanga Today that they have already identified the suspect, who is also residing at the said barangay, but refrained from giving further information so as not to hamper the ongoing investigation.
Police investigators and Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered 9 empty shells and 4 deformed slugs of 9mm caliber pistol and a fake intelligence agent identification card.
Initial investigation conducted by responding policemen disclosed that the victim left their house at about 10:00 p.m. of Thursday.
Probers said a concerned citizen reported to Tetuan Police Station early yesterday morning that a dead man was found along the said alley with visible gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
The cadaver of the victim was brought to Villa Funeral Homes for a post mortem examination.
Police are still conducting further investigation on the case.
