Erbie sponsors blood -letting in Talon-Talon

Amidst the outset of the dengue outbreak here in Zamboanga City, the Barangay Council of Talon-Talon and Congressman Erico Basilio Fabian spearheads the conduct of a blood-letting ceremony on Sunday.

In aid to the call of the Philippine Red Cross-Zamboanga City Chapter, the above-mentioned organizers decided to respond to the call by initiating such humanitarian project which will in a way augment the supply of blood in the PRC which is very essential to the growing number of dengue victims here in the city.

Talon-Talon Barangay Kagawad and broadcast-journalist Teodyver Arquiza, the organizer of the said event, disclosed that such project is one of the public service programs of their community, urging the residents of the barangay to participate on the said project and be part of sharing blood and giving life to those residents who were victimized by the dengue epidemic here.

Arquiza said that aside from the mass blood donation, “Libreng Gupit” will also be given to the children of those blood donors who are expected to be part of such activity on Sunday. The free haircut will be availed by any student of the said barangay on a first-come first serve basis until noon time on the same day.

Congressman Fabian who is a nurse by profession revealed that giving blood is a form of living a healthy lifestyle, saying that when you donate blood, it circulates and produces better and renewed blood cells in your body which makes you more active, younger and healthy as well.

The solon is encouraging the residents of Talon-Talon, the nearby barangays and those organized group to form part of the blood-letting activity over the weekend from 8:00am to 12:00 noon at Talon-Talon Elementary School, and save lives.
