A security guard detailed at a Lotto Outlet and a Western Union Money transfer establishment along Governor Ramos Avenue, Barangay Sta. Maria, this city, in Sta. Maria was killed while their client was wounded after they were shot by two unidentified motorcycle riding-tandem suspects on Tuesday night.

Police identified the fatality as Alfredo Samorin, 30, a security guard of Skylink Security Agency, a native of Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay Province and presently residing at Barangay Cabatangan, this city.

Samorin suffered a gunshot wound on his head and was rushed to Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) by responding emergency medical team but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival at the hospital.

Melchor Pancho, of legal age, a resident of Governor Ramos, Sta. Maria, was also shot on the right side of his body by the suspects while betting at the Lotto Outlet.

Pancho managed to proceed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center (WMMC) on board a tricycle where he is now admitted for further medication.
Witnesses told policemen that about 8:45 p.m. of Tuesday, the suspects, wearing full-face helmet on board a color black motorcycle suddenly stopped in front of the establishment and shot the victims repeatedly.

Initial investigation conducted by Sta. Maria Police Station under chief Inspector Larry Domingo disclosed that the security guard was manning his post while their client was busy talking to the outlet operator when the suspects shot them.

Further information revealed that the suspects forcibly took the M16 Rifle of the security guard and hurriedly sped away towards the direction of Baragay San Roque, this city.

A follow-up operation was launched by police investigators for the possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
