PCSO approves P10 million endowment fund for hospitals

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has recently approved P10 million endowment fund for hospitals in Zamboanga Peninsula and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

PCSO Manager Raul M. Regondola said that Zamboanga City Medical Center and Western Mindanao Medical Center will receive P3 Million each, while Sulu Provincial Hospital, Basilan Provincial Hospital, Margosatubig Regional Hospital, and Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital will receive P1 million each.

The funding, according to Regondola, came from PCSO Manila and it will be used for the medicines of the indigents.

The minimum assistance that the office can give to the patient is P5,000 and the maximum is P10,000. 

Those who are interested may visit the hospital social worker or those in-charge in giving assistance to indigents.

Regondola said Ciudad Medical Zamboanga, Brent Hospital, ZAEC Hospital, Doctor’s Hospital, Sibugay Provincial Hospital, Pagadian District Hospital, and Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center are up for assessment so they could also receive their endowment fund within this year.    

The office is serving Basilan, Jolo, Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga City and Tawi Tawi.

The office is assisting indigent patients in the form of medicines, costly diagnostic procedures, and assistance in paying hospital bills.
