City school division head praises Mayor Lobregat

PDFPrintE-mail

City School Division Superintendent Pedro Melchor Natividad has commended Mayor Celso Lobregat for spending more than P800 million worth of projects in support to the education sector in Zamboanga City.
Natividad, who was with the mayor during inauguration and turnover of two school buildings at the Talon Talon National High School to the Department of Education (DepEd), disclosed that "this is the reason why other school divisions are jealous that in their place they are not so fortunate with the local government units."
“I was recently in Pangasinan and was not able to see good school buildings there, it’s incomparable to what we have been getting the kind of support than them. That is why many of the school superintendents are jealous especially when I told them that the city government here has already spent more than P800 million for the education sector. We have not even counted the salary that the members of the school board have been getting, transportation allowance and others,” Natividad said.
The school official also commended the mayor and the members of the city council for its vision to support the education division.
At the same time, Natividad said he has already issued a memorandum to different school heads urging them to take good care of the school buildings the city government had implemented and turned over to DepEd. (Nonong Santiago)
