Parañaque Councilor Alma Moreno-Salic yesterday morning bared her plans to run for a Senate seat in the forthcoming elections.
Moreno, who is presently the national president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL), quipped that if given the chance to be in the national legislature, she will help represent the various sectors of society especially the grassroots.

According to Moreno, she will run under the new Lakas CMD party headed by Senator Bong Revilla.
Moreno, who is the first lady president of the PCL since 20 years ago met with Mayor Celso Lobregat to inform him that the PCL has decided to hold its general assembly meeting in this city on September 12, 2012.

She said at least 2,000 councilors from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are expected to converge and attend the meeting here.
“This is the first time the PCL will hold its meeting in this city. We have chosen Zamboanga because we would like to let the councilors from other places know that it is very safe and peaceful here,” Moreno said.

The Parañaque councilor at the same time joined Lobregat and the Knights of Columbus in the celebration of Flag Day held at the Rizal Monument fronting City Hall.

Moreno arrived in the city together with PCL national chair Councilor Allan Zulueta where they also met with local PCL chair Councilor Rudy Lim, Councilors Abdurahman Nuño, Benjamin Guingona and Myra Paz Abubakar.
