DMI-St. Joseph Circle attends 18th Biennial Convention Tagaytay City

International Regent Sister Lydia Ramirez Md. and Circle Regent Sister Pilar Torres spearheaded the delegation of 26 Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI) - St. Joseph Circle from Zamboanga City who attended the 18th Biennial Convention held last May 10, 2012 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center, Tagaytay City.

Sister Mila Villanueva, International Vice Regent for Luzon gave her warm welcome to all the delegates from all over the country, while sister Lydia Ramirez gave her International Regents report which was capped with standing ovation.

The theme for the biennium is: Strengthening of Faith In Jesus Through Mary in the DMI Mission."
His Eminence Guadencio Cardinal Rosales, former Archbishop of Manila, who was the main presider in the eucharistic concelebration was also the keynote speaker for the convention.

Several invited competent speakers talked on the Four thrusts of the DMI: Morality on Media; Assistance to prisoners families and their victims; Upliftment of women workers; and Youth welfare.

For its exemplary performance and outstanding achievements, Zamboanga City DMI St. Joseph Circle was given the highest award conferred to a circle - the Gold Star Circle award.

The Zamboanga City DMI-St. Joseph Circle dance presentation during the fellowship night dubbed as Mama Mia Dancing Queen also won 1st place.
The last day of the convention was highlighted with the election of new sets of officers for the ensuing years 2013-2014. Unanimously elected as the next International Regent was Sister Mila Villanueva the Vice International Regent for Luzon.
The province of Bohol will be the next venue for the next biennium.
