PAF joins 'Brigada Eskwela'

Contingents of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) yesterday joined in the cleaning, painting and grass-cutting at the Baliwasan Central School dubbed “Brigada Eskwela”, in preparation for the opening of classes next month.

PAF Civil Military Operations (COM) officer Lt. Col. Jalaluddin Wagas of the 530th Air Base Wing disclosed the cleaning activities in the said school was in coordination with the Baliwasan barangay council under barangay chair Bodey Cabato, Eagles Club, Baliwasan Central School faculty, and Councilor Jimmy Cabato.

Wagas disclosed that the Air Force delegation is scheduled to do similar cleaning activities tomorrow until Saturday in the other public schools like EAAB Elementary School (Tuesday), Pasonanca Elementary School (Wednesday), Sta. Maria Central School (Thursday), San Roque Elementary School (Friday) and Cabatangan Elementary School (Saturday).

“Actually weare helping these schools in the repair of tables and chairs, painting, grasscutting and trimming of the branches of trees inside the school compound,” Wagas said.

Before the whole day activities started, Wagas said, a parade was first held followed by a brief program with 530th Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Emeraldo Magnaye as guest of honor.

Wagas said since 2003, the PAF in this city has been joining the Brigada Eskwela to help clean and prepare the schools as it welcomes thousands of pupils during the opening of classes in June.
