Amy celebrates 60th birthday

Last of two parts..

The very talented VIEN FURIGAY regaled her aunt with a song entitled “ The Way You Are” followed by  a dance number coming from the Mayor of Lamitan Hon. ROSE FURIGAY and her DEDPED and LGU employees. A slideshow of EDGAR and AMY’s life in Hawaii, their children and grandchildren were shown by Vista de Lente Team.

After the slide show, the birthday celebrator moved towards her birthday cake, a four tiered fondant cake where she made a wish and blew the lighted  birthday candles to a loud cheers and singing of a Happy Birthday song. Atty. RODRIGO FILOTEO , a high school classmate of the birthday celebrator AMY took the center stage and offered a Toast saying  “ SALUD, SALUD Y PORTAMONEDA”  (HEALTH, HEALTH and WEALTH).

AMY then  put on her second attire, this time a fushia dress and surprised her guests and well-wishers with a special dance number. AMY a graceful dancer  performed a ballroom number with her husband EDGAR.

AMY’s 60th birthday has all the elements of a grand celebration- good food, flowing drinks,  beautiful  performances, grand raffle that came in three waves with chocolates, perfumes and cash (dollars) prizes, fabulous theme,  beautiful music, engaging fellowship and beautiful guests from this city, Lamitan, Basilan, Manila,  and as far as Hawaii,  Thailand and Indiana.
To AMY, happy birthday once more. Thanks to you and EDGAR for inviting me to a great night of fun and fellowship.

It was one wonderful evening, fabulous at that, when timeless beauty AMELIA “AMY” FURIGAY-QUIDES, also called  NENENG by her friends and relatives marked her 60th birthday last Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

The grand celebration of life with GATSBY inspired theme was held at the Rooftop of Lantaka Hotel by the Sea along Valderosa Street, Zamboanga City.

The birthday celebrator AMY comes from the Illustrious FURIGAY clan of Lamitan. She is the daughter of ROSA FURIGAY and the sister of Lamitan Vice Mayor Hon. RODERICK “ORIC” FURIGAY.

AMY moved to Hawaii in 1971 when she passed a college scholarship grant. It was there where she met the love of her life EDGAR QUIDES from Ilocos who became her husband and the father of her two beautiful daughters NICOLE married to DANIEL NIHIPALI and GAYLE married to BRANDON. She is now  blessed with four grand children EDISON, JAMASON, BRAYLON and CARTER. EDGAR and AMY has established ALOHA Dental Lab, Inc. a family business located at 2203 S. BERETANIA, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Now going back to the GATSBY inspired occasion, invited guests and well-wishers who graced the affair came in authentic GATSBY outfit not to be outdone is the birthday celebrator herself who was dressed in Ecru and Black dress with matching black headdress and black and gold feathers accentuated with strands and strands of pearl necklace.

The party started with the grand entrance of the birthday celebrator AMY escorted by her husband EDGAR to the applause of the guests and was followed with a sumptuous dinner and photo opportunity with the honoree while the RAVEL Band led by POPOY ENDOZO plays immortal hits of the 60’s. Halfway thru the dinner Hon. Vice Mayor RODERICK “ORIC” FURIGAY gave his birthday message for his sister AMY and was followed with a very entertaining dance number performed by the SANGALANG Great Gatsby Girls which gave way to social dancing.
