An electrician was shot and seriously wounded by a fish vendor at Sikatuna Drive, Baliwasan Seaside, Barangay Baliwasan, this city, yesterday afternoon.
The City’s Criminal Investigation and Detective Management Unit (CIDMU) chief Sr. Inspector Arlan Delumpines identified the victim as Tamin Nerkwit, of legal age, married, and a resident of the same place.

The victim suffered a single gunshot wound on his chest. He was rushed to Zamboanga Brent Hospital for medical treatment.

Delumpines said ther suspect identified as Saddak Muin, 33, married, also of the said place, was immediately arrested by the responding local police personnel.

A Caliber .45 Pistol trademark Armscor with serial number 615771 was confiscated from the suspect. Police recovered several empty shell and slug the crime scene.

According to investigators, the victim was in debt of P6,000 worth of two boxes of fishes two months ago from the suspect but the former evadeed the latter from confrontation over the payment.

This triggered the incident. Based on report, the suspect spotted the victim along the alley of Baliwasan Seaside and engaged in a heated argument over the latter’s debt.

The suspect, armed with the pistol, immediately shot the victim on the chest then hurriedly went inside their resident to avoid confronting the responding policemen but the later was arrested.

The suspect was brought to Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) for investigation and detention. Appropriate case is being readied by the police investigators against the suspect in court.
