A young man was hacked and wounded by his uncle at Zone 8, Barangay Ayala, this city, last Wednesday.

The police identified the victim as Junry Laridy y Abonares, 19, single, and a resident of Dumagsa, Ayala.

The victim, who sustained a wound on his lower right knee, was brought to Ayala Lying-in Center then transferred to Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) for further medication.

Investigators identified the suspect as Albert Abanoles y Mayonila, 27, single, and a resident of the same place.

Initial investigation conducted by Ayala Police Station disclosed that victim was inside their house when the suspect armed with the said bolo suddenly approached the former and without any provocation hacked him.

However, the victim managed to evade and ran outside of their house for safety but still then suspect chased him while continuously hacking the former that hit him on his right lower knee.

Probers said that the mother of the victim identified as Marlyn Larid interfered and pacified the fight and was able to get control of the bolo.

The suspect hurriedly fled toward unknown direction after the incident and is now the target of a police manhunt operation.

Responding policemen recovered at the crime scene was a bolo more or less 30 inches length.

Police believed that the motive of the incident was personal grudge.
