The Zamboanga City Blood Council in coordination with Rotary Club of Zamboanga (Mother club) led by its President Dr. FRANCIS SARAU  conducted last August 2, 2012 the Awarding Ceremony for the Top Eleven (11) Barangay Chairmen who initiated Mobile Blood Donations in their respective barangays and was able to collect the highest number of blood units from July 2011 to July 2012. 

The awarding ceremony held at La Briza of Lantaka Hotel was the culminating activity of the Blood Donors month which is observed every month of July.

This year’s theme is “ More Blood, More lives.” ( Mucho Sangre,Mucho Vida)
The awardees were: Barangay Chairmen FELIPE L. NATIVIDAD of Tetuan,  EFIGENIO E. JULIAN, JR. of Pasonanca, FREDERICK N. ATILANO of Lumayang, REY P. MODILLAS of Cawit, RONALD “ONING” MARAVILLA of Labuan, JUSTO LACANDALO of Santa Maria ably represented by Kagawad ABE TAN, BENJAMIN E. LIMEN of BOALAN, JERRY E. PEREZ of Putik,  JOSEPHINE PAREJA of Talisayan, DIOSTERIDES S. LIBRERO of Ayala and BETTY LOU C. REYES of San Jose Gusu.

On the same affair, Hon Mayor CELSO L. LOBREGAT was also given due recognition as a National Awardees’ a Hall of Famer having been a Sandugo Awardee. Certificate of Distinction was given to Baragangay Captain FELIPE L. NATIVIDAD for being a Hall of Famer Awardee of the National Sandugo Awards. 

Certificates of Appreciation was also awarded to Philippine Red Cross Zamboanga City Chapter, Zamboanga City Medical Center Blood Bank and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc.

Doing the honors of awarding the plaques were Hon. Councilor LILIA MACROHON-NUÑO, City Health Officer, Vice Chairman of the Zamboanga City Blood Council and RC Zamboanga Past President Dr. RODEL AGBULOS and Rotary Club of Zamboanga President Dr. FRANCIS SARAU.
