The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants-Zamboanga Basilan Chapter headed by its incumbent president Florivel M. The event started off with a thanksgiving mass last July 15 at Fort Pilar Shrine followed by a “HATAW” at Paseo Del Mar and get together breakfast with the President at Barcode Rizal supported by a number of members, officers and past presidents. Acknowledging the presence of the Institution’s past presidents and active participation of its members, PICPA ZamBas is now beginning to activate and make itself more evident in the society.
Subsequent to the event’s opening program, in collaboration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Revenue Region 15-Zamboanga City, a Seminar on Electronic Registration of Businesses with POS and a Courtesy Call with BIR RD Atty. Alert B. Alocilja was conducted on the entire morning and afternoon of July 18, respectively. Businessmen and all accountants in public and private sectors in the industry were invited and gathered together in the latter activities.

There were four competing schools consisting of 2 teams per school with 2 contestants in each team namely, Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU), Universidad De Zamboanga (UZ), Claret College of Isabela (CCI), and Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) who joined the contest.
