The Rotary Club and Rotary Anns Club of Zamboanga City North had their joint Induction and Turn Over Ceremonies last Friday, July 6, 2012 at 6:30 in the evening at the Sapphire Room of GRAND ASTORIA HOTEL.

This year’s theme is “ Peace Through Service.”

Young businessman OSBERT LUY MALINAO sits as the 33rd President of the Rotary Club North vice Outgoing President ERIC GEORGE S. BASILIO. The other officer for Rotary year 2012-2012 who were inducted into office by Ret. Col. RESSURRECCION GUNBAM MIRAVITE, who also is the affairs Guest Speaker were: DELFIN SAAVEDRA, vice president and president elect; EUGENE DE ASIS, secretary; PAOLO MIRANDA, treasurer and Board of Directors RODRIGO FILOTEO, community service, MARY JUNE BUGANTE, international service, RICHARD MARIANO, vocational service, KERWIN BALDOVINO, club service; TIRSO JESUS LEONOR, new generation service and ERIC GEORGE BASILIO, immediate past president.

The Rotary Anns Club is led OBSBERT’s better half, the beautiful KATHRINA MALINAO. The other officers includes PINKY SAAVEDRA, vice president; IMEE MIRANDA, secretary; MELODY IRINGAN, assistant secretary; MARILYN DE ASIS, treasurer; ALEXANDRA SALAZAR, PRO; while the Board of Directors are: GLEND BALDOVINO, NELLY BERDIN, ZING DIZON, EDNA FILOTEO, HELEN JEONG AND ANNE LEONOR and CARLA BASILIO, immediate past president.

The highlights of the affair were the Turn Over Ceremonies (Turn over of the Medallion, Gavel, Bell and Presidential Pin) and the Welcoming to the Roster of Past Presidents and Pinning of  Past President’s Pin by Outgoing President ERIC GEORGE BASILIO and OSBERT LUY MALINAO and the Turn Over of Responsibility and Acceptance between Ann Outgoing President CARLA BASILIO and Ann President KATHRINA MALINAO.

Gracing the occasion were: Past District Governors BENJAMIN “BOLOY” MEDOZA and Ann ANN, CHARLIE REITH, JAMES MAKASIAR and Ann TESS,  AG EDWIN TO, Presidents of the five (5) Rotary Clubs and other Rotarians and Anns.
