A young Zamboangueño is now making waves in the Fashion Industry in Al-Khobar, UAE.  He is WAGNER TAN, JR., who is fondly called JONG JONG by his family members and friends. JONG JONG is a licensed nurse who finished Bachelor of Science in  Nursing (BSN) in 1996 at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University. He completed his secondary education at Pilar College.

After his graduation JONG JONG left for Al-Khobar and landed a job as nurse in one of the hospitals. In the course of his work a Princess was admitted to the hospital where he works.

He took care of her and eventually became friends.  Several years later the same Princess posted a Wanted Ad in the Internet  for an in house Fashion Designer.  JONG JONG  lost no time to submit his fashion designs sketches and was taken in as the only Zamboangueño Couturier out of the thirty Fashion Designers that the Princess has in Fujeirah Palace.

JONG JONG is the son of the late businessman WAGNER TAN and Mrs. NESIA FERNANDEZ and is the brother of Western Mindanao State University Clinical Instructor LAARNI T. SADAIN, wife of Councilor MELCHOR SADAIN.

JONG JONG has no formal trainings in Fashion Designing. It is out of sheer talent that he creates beautiful and elegant gowns. His sister LAARNI fondly remembers how her  brother JONG JONG saved for his Nursing Board Exam by making Caricatures out of his Clinical Instructors in ADZU.

Successful as he is now, JONG JONG helps in sustaining the education of his two younger sibling.
