A splendid performance was given by the Zamboanga Hermosa Chorale together with the Ateneo De Zamboanga University (ADZU) Concert Band during the Gran Concierto held last June 22 at Garden Orchids Hotel Convention Center.

The Gran Concierto is in preparation as the Zamboanga Hermosa Chorale is set to represent the Philippines in the 7th World Choir Games in Cincinnati, USA. The Zamboanga Hermosa Chorale is the first-ever chorale group to represent Zamboanga in an international event of choral competition.

During the show, the Zamboanga Hermosa Chorale sang in acapela and together with the ADZU Concert Band. The songs sang during the Gran Concierto were Besa Me Mucho, Go The Distance, I Will Always Love You and Chavacano Songs.

Zamboangueño singers and World Championships of the Performing Arts Champions Jimboy Calisang and Jerushalmai Calisang also performed during the concierto.

The Jimboy Calisang opened the show with Our Father while Jerushalmai Calisang sang I Look To You, the Spanish Chavacano version of Ikaw, Amor, and Corazon Espinado.

Present during the show were Mayor Celso Lobregat, Jomar Lobregat, Councilors Nonong Guingona and wife Vita Guingona, Myra Paz Abubakar and daughter and other guest.

The Chorale is being conducted by while the ADZU Concert Band is being led by Polly Enriquez.
